The Boutique Spa is easy to spot. It is big, shiny and oh-so-welcome to Bayswater, heralding a new era of promise in the area and bringing some luxury to Queensway.
Though next door to its excellent sister spa, this is a more comprehensive enterprise, with a long bar for manicures and pedicures flanking the entrance to treatment rooms a la New York mani/pedi bars. They also offer facials, waxing, threading and massage.
I sampled the latter in the form of an Espa Deep Muscle Massage. Gentle massages leave me frustrated, so I was very pleased when the masseuse took my assertion that I liked my massage firm seriously. Though designed to target the muscles on a deeper level, this was relaxing and – unlike during a Thai massage which can at times verge on painful – I almost fell asleep during.
After treatment I struggled to pick up pace back on the road. My body was heavy and floppy – it was heaven. I took myself home and succumbed to my body’s pleas to sleep. On waking, I felt utterly renewed. Highly recommended.
