Love your coke? Would you consider wearing it on your nails? OPI want you to do just that this summer as, in the words of OPI co-founder & executive vice president Suzi Weiss-Fischmann: ”both OPI and Coco-Cola deliver happiness in a bottle.” They seem to have hit the mark – the gathered beauty editors who attended the St. Martin’s Lane Hotel launch gave it the seal of approval in a series of oohs and ahhs at manicure stations.
The collection (available here) is inspired by the Coca-Cola, Vanilla Coke, Cherry Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, Fanta Grape and Fanta Orange bottles, not the drink within. Thank goodness for this – on opening the invitation for the launch I harboured fears that the brand renowned for their colours were going to go rogue and unveil a host of sludgy browns. But no, OPI are no fools. This is, after all, a summer collection – the idea is to liven up and refresh, another two words that rather handily can also easily apply to Coco-Cola’s wares:
”Nothing refreshes a look like OPI colour, so it just made sense to partner with the world’s most famous refreshing soft drink company. The nine shades in this collection represent not only the best-selling Coco-Cola Company products but also the styles of the women who enjoy them from the classic and glamorous to the hip and trendy,” said Weiss-Fischmann.
