Navigating the seas of life can be tricky for we women. There are bills to pay, deadlines to hit, diets to adhere to, families to cook for, friends to find time to see and, heavens, make-up to apply. Among all that other stuff the final one can easily fall to the wayside, or, for those of us who diligently apply a little something every morning, become a bit of a chore. This is a troubling state of affairs; with all the quite simply ravishing products out there, not finding joy in the process of the great playtime that is a make-up session is a missed opportunity for fun.
And so to the new Modernist Eyeshadow Palette offering from Hourglass, which is designed not only to make-up eyes but to provide a little eye candy, too. Take the undulating surface, for example: it allows for the brush to pick up optimum pigment but is also beautiful to behold, isn’t it? The five colours all seamlessly presented in the one pan is another feature that’s both pretty as a picture and useful – they facilitate the blending of the colours with ease.
This hybrid of beauty and joy is all trademark Hourglass (and trust me there is a big fat emphasis on quality – each of the seven shadow palettes aren’t only nice to look at and made in rather fetching colour combinations but they’re also pigment-rich and oh-so-darn creamy that you’ll find blending them a breeze). Now, I won’t throw anything as crazy as the suggestion that they might topple the great Tom Ford’s palettes in my esteem out there, but I have chosen this over my beloved Cocoa Mirage thrice in the past week… Praise. Indeed.
