FOTD / The Power of Good Mascara

Tweet | Facebook | Email

Now I’m not for one minute suggesting there isn’t a whole lot of other make-up going on in this ‘natural’ looking Sunday FOTD, but the titular point is really key: a damn good mascara makes eyes pop in no time. Everything else that’s happening on my face, bar the touch of modest colour courtesy of the Max Factor coral balm to lift this out of dullsville, is surplus to requirements – a little housekeeping in the form of skin perfecting, light bronzing and shading of eyes is enough to provide the perfect canvas for a good lashing of eye-opening mascara.

Two notes: 1) I almost can’t believe how very much I like this cheapie Rimmel concealer. Seriously: buy it. 2) The Dior Airflash foundation, which I fully intend on reviewing properly in a post to follow, is brilliant, but the nozzle dispensing the product covers too large a surface and I therefore suggest you spritz into your hand and then rub on the face. Using this method, it’s spectacular, covering all manner of sins while looking/feeling as if it isn’t there.

FOUNDATION / Dior Diorskin Airflash Spray Foundation in Light Beige.

CONCEALER / Rimmel Lasting Finish High Coverage Concealer, launching on the 25th of March here. Mini review: I’m  hugely impressed – this is an awful lot like my beloved Secret Camouflage in consistency and finish but it comes at a snip of the price.

BROWS / RMK Eyebrow Gel.

EYESHADOW / Nars Narsissist Dual-Intensity Palette. Shadows used: Andromeda on brow bone, Himalia on eyelids and Ursa Major as a liner and in the socket line.

CHEEKS / Burberry Beauty Natural Blush in Light Glow applied with Japonesque HD 110 Dual Sided Brush.

LASHES / Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler and Max Factor Masterpiece Waterproof Mascara.

LIPS / Max Factor Colour Intensifying Balm in Charming Coral.
