Gwen Stefani is such an obvious candidate for a make-up collaboration that I’m amazed nobody’s previously pinned her down to one. Conjure her up in your mind’s eye. What do you see? Red lips, right? Red lips, a black flick and a platinum mane. And that there is key to the success of this partnership: Gwen doesn’t just like make-up – make-up is integral to her look.
Under her watchful eye (Gwen was involved in every part of this development from picking the colours to designing the – remarkably sturdy – palette case) Urban Decay have produced a rare find: both a collector’s item and one you’ll actually want to use thanks to the mix of flattering colours.
Here’s what’s in it: plenty of nudes in both mattes and shimmers, a few taupes and buttery greys, three accent colours (Hakajuku, Danger and 1987: all zany but also wearable), and three dark shades that make an ideal liner/smoky corner.
