FOTD / Playing With The Newbies

Tweet | Facebook | Email

Taking the picture to head these FOTD posts used to be a pain in the backside: either I had to perform an act of contortion to take the shot, or hubs had to (grumblingly) take them. Now I have a new technique: the ‘in the mirror selfie.’ Dignified it may not be, but you can plainly see the make-up and no muscles are twisted or husbands annoyed in the process, so I’ll stick with it for now…

That out the way, let’s break this one down. It started with MAC’s new Velvetease Lip Pencil – that powdery pink made me want to do something a bit retro and girly. Next, on went a lightweight foundation with a little liquid concealer where needed (skin is behaving atm), some brightening RMK powder and a decent whack of bronze. On my eyes, I blended two of Burberry’s new eyeshadow sticks for soft definition and loaded my lashes up with Perricone’s brilliant conditioning mascara, which has two different comb bristles that make doing upper and lower lashes easy as pie. Once I’d run Gwen Stefani’s brow powders and wax through my brows, I was good to go.
