The Giveaway / Heyland & Whittle Home Stash – CLOSED

Right peeps, it’s spring. It has officially been declared so by the folk who do the national declaring, and it’s evident everywhere in the emerging daffodils and birds who are going at it all day (a pair right outside my bedroom window had a rather active morning and woke me long before my alarm clock – they’re early risers, those shagging birds).

If spring hasn’t put the old idiomatic spring in your step, or if, like me, you’re a bit sleep-deprived, this selection of Heyland & Whittle goodies may do the job. I’ve been trialling them over the past week and really promise that they make everything cheerier from morning ’til evening.

Here’s how //

First Thing / Heyland & Whittle Greentea & Grapefruit Shampoo & Conditioner / I’m a big believer in the power of aromatherapy and try to use scented things in the shower or bath that’ll sway my mood. This zingy shampoo and conditioner have been giving me a bit of an energy kick first thing in the morning when every fibre of me is desperate to still be in bed. In terms of performance they leave my fine (though abundant), highlighted hair shiny and soft, although I suspect their abilities don’t stretch much further than the old gentle cleanse and condition – there’s no inbuilt frizz-control or deeply-restorative proteins in the mix.

Morning / Heyland & Whittle Wild Lemongrass Diffuser / I keep this on my desk so that wafts of it can shimmy over my way throughout the day and give me a satisfying little jolt awake. Of the diffusers I’ve tried, this is up there – the reeds don’t dry out quickly, the scent doesn’t disappear (nor does it overwhelm), and this blend is spot on – refreshing, grounded, delightful.

Heyland & Whittle Review

All Day / Heyland & Whittle Coconut, Vanilla & Blackpepper Handwash & Hand Lotion / I mentioned my new hand washing schedule in this post and am still going back and forth to the sink very often indeed. This duo add joy to the process and smell like holiday (that coconut/black pepper thing = Caribbean in my mind’s eye). As they’re very much a treat, I’d suggest you make like me and stash them away from boys/those who won’t appreciate hands that smell of holidays.

Evening / Heyland & Whittle Neroli & Rose 3 Wick Candle / I can never get enough of rose scents – to me, rose smells of gardens and getting ready to go out and glamour and – rather inexplicably – freshly-washed cotton nighties of the embroidered variety. I know I’m not in the majority, and that most of you equate the powdery scent of rose with granny, which is why the addition of orange blossom to this candle is clever indeed – to my rose-loving gang, it’s all the good stuff with a kick, to the rose-wary, the cloying edge is rounded off. It’s also made of soy wax so is ideal for anyone who’s been scared off using paraffin wax candles by the rumoured carcinogens emitted by their wax.
