The combination of rose and oil is a long-standing winner in ML towers (just a desk, really, but I like to add a sense of grandeur where possible), though usually rosy oils are reserved for my face or, if feeling fancy, my body. Now my hair is part of the action too thanks to Isle of Roses Hair Oil, the latest hair product set to fly of shelves created by Michael Gordon, who also founded Bumble and Bumble.
The use of oils in the hair, as you may well know, is a bit in vogue at the moment and plenty of formulas are now out that are cleverly designed to act either on damp or dry hair as heat protectors/frizz tamers/softeners/conditioners. While Isle of Roses Hair Oil can more than amply do all the above, I’d really caution against using it in this catch-all manner – it’s far too decadent (and expensive at £42 a pop) to be thrown around willy-nilly.
My bottle is reserved for between washes to scent, to soften, to recondition when hair has started to lose that freshly-washed lustre. It’s a real treat product that – understandably in my opinion – spawned a waiting list after Vogue’s Nicola Moulton espoused its virtues, and one that would make for a perfect splurge on this lovely long bank holiday weekend…

Hi! I’ve been reading this since the beginning (I think so, anyway) and I really like your style of writing and approach to beauty… Could you please list all of the ingredients or at least let me know if this contains silicones, as I can’t seem to find this info?
Thanks!
Hi Daphne, Thank you! I’m delighted to hear that. I double checked with Isle of Roses and they have assured me that it is entirely silicone-free: “Isle of Roses is free from silicones – it’s 100% natural, a blend of Bulgarian Rose Flower and Mask Rose seed blended with four essential oils plus shea butter and Vitamin E.” I hope that helps X
Thank you so much for taking time to check!
Oh oh, I guess that means I just have to buy it now…

No problem at all. And, yes, it seems you will have to! X
Hi – where can I get the Isle of Roses hair oil in the United States? Or what UK seller will ship it to the US? Thanks so much for your help!
Hi Michele – if you head over to BeautyMart (I’ve linked to it) they’ll ship to the US. X
