The Giveaway / A Whole Lotta REN – CLOSED

Tweet | Facebook | Email

Before I worked in the beauty industry, I used to do a Ross at fancy hotels. I know: Friends ended ages and ages ago and it’s pretty tragic that I’m still referencing it, but I’ve yet to see the frenzy that is pilfering mini shampoos so accurately depicted elsewhere.

Nowadays, I’m a tad more restrained. Unless the hotel has a bathroom filled with REN. In that case, I stash the new bottles in my suitcase as soon as the chambermaid has refilled the stock. (Side note: are any of you chambermaids? Do lots of people do this? Surely you all know that nobody can get through a bottle of shampoo/conditioner/body wash every single day!)…

I digress. REN, then: very good brand that inspires a bit of madness even in hardened beauty writers. It’s 100% comprised of mineral and plant derived actives. It smells heavenly. It does the job it promises to do. It doesn’t break the bank (especially if stolen! Ha!). And now it is the subject of my latest giveaway. Scroll down to see what’s on offer…

REN Face Cleanser Review

The Morning Set/ This set is ideal if you struggle in the mornings. First, have a little scrub to get the circulation going and remove dead skin with REN Guerande Salt Exfoliating Body Balm, and then wash and moisturise the old body with REN Neroli and Grapefruit Body Wash and REN Neroli and Grapefruit Body Cream (both smell AMAZING).

For your face, there’s the really refreshing (though not stripping) REN Rosa Centifolia Cleansing Gel and REN Omega 3 Optimum Skin Oil (tap on, follow with SPF. Can also be used in the evening and REN recommending using it then, but I find it really gives my skin oomph in the morning).

REN pollution spray review

The Day Boosters / I’m a huge fan of products that can be used throughout the day to pep up senses and skin. These four are brilliant. The REN Citrus Limonum Hand Wash and Hand Cream smell ever so uplifting, the REN Flash Defence Anti-Pollution Mist will wake up make-up (what a pleasing rhyme) and boost the skin’s defences, and the REN Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift will plump out wrinkles and hydrate the skin around the eyes (full review here).

REN evening skincare review

The Night Set / Here’s my evening routine of dreams: I kick back with an episode of Game of Thrones before heading upstairs to cleanse with the REN Rosa Centifolia Hot Cloth Cleanser. Next, I slather on a layer of REN Clearcalm 3 Clarity Restoring Mask and hop in the shower. While I’m in there, the mask works its way into my skin as I lather up with the REN Seaweed and Sage Body Wash.

When I get out, I rinse and apply the REN Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial to gently exfoliate and balance my face and décolleté, moisturise my body, massage a layer of REN Revitalising Night Cream onto my skin and read until I drift off…

To enter the giveaway to win one of the three REN routines:

1) Subscribe to by entering your e-mail address in the field at the top on the right hand side where it says ‘subscribe.’ If you’ve already subscribed, head to number 2…

2) Tell me which set you’d like to win in the comments field. I would also be cheered to hear that you also steal products from hotels if you should be feeling in the mood for a little confession.

Winners will be picked on the 2nd of June at 12pm GMT and notified on the e-mail account left when commenting (this won’t show up).

  • Carol Peace says:

The day boosters would be my choice. I don’t often stay in hotels and have to confess to ‘stealing’ the toiletries when I do.

  • Tracy Nixon says:

    1) Thank you for the lovely giveaway – I am already a subscriber.

    2) I would love to win the The Night Set please.

And yes, I have been known to take home mini shampoos and conditions from hotel rooms – well why not if I have paid a lot to stay there? And they put them there to be used so don’t feel bad! Oh and I also might take away one or two coffee sachets and packets of biscuits if they are available too – always handy for picnics or days out!

  • josephine says:

I’m such a fan of REN and have gone through so many gentle cleansers, but also use the keep young and beautiful eye cream and a couple of things from the glycolactic (? think that’s how you spell it) range. The mask and the ‘wake up beautiful’ thing (which by the way, I was so impressed with, my face looked so smooth and rested when I woke up. Would be so nice to try some other things here, like the scrub/ neroli body stuff, bah!! Thanks for the oppportunity. Always read your blog. At work, hem hem….

  • Amy W says:

I would love to win the night set. I’ve not tried REN before but they sound lovely!

I used to work in a hotel, and people would often stash the toiletries and we’d have to refill them. Once someone didn’t even try to do it subtly – her wash bag was wide open in the bathroom with all the little bottles in it! I’m definitely a Ross type of person when I see freebies! And it’s not tragic to reference Friends – my sister and I do it all the time, and it’s funny how many situations in life remind me of something in Friends! 😀

  • Jenni P says:

Ren products are heavenly and the Night set would be a dream come true!
And yes I do hoard good toiletries from hotels.Definitely 🙂

  • Emily says:

    The night set please!

Frequenting middle-of-nowhere hotels in China and India I don’t covet the toiletries…. however I do love the mini nail files and have an enormous amount of travel cotton buds and shower caps. I’ll also admit that I do have a substantial collection of white flannels. I find them so useful when flying – a quick face wash in the bathroom and a warm flannel is amazingly refreshing!

  • Sian Budgen says:

    The night set pleeaase!

  • Lesley says:

    The Day Boosters sound great!

The last hotel I stayed in had Espa goodies. Well I thought I had got over the ‘stealing’ phase. It was a 2 centre holiday so was lovely to have lovely shampoos and soaps for the second hotel. Oh and I love that Friends episode (well them all really) The suitcase falling open as he was leaving 🙂

  • stashmatters says:

I totally steal hotel toilettries! I get giddy when I check in and find brands like L’Occitane or Molton Brown in the washrooms! 😀 I have no shame.
I have a little tester box of REN products that I need to open up – it contains their famour AHA exfoliant.
Amazing giveaway! I’d love to try out the products from the The Night Set. 🙂

  • cassie walsworth says:

The day boosters sounds awesome, i’ve only tried a toner from Ren but I love it. The shampoos are part of your room, I totally take them x

  • Rebecca williams says:

I would love the night set please. I always take the shampoo and shower gel from the Hilton so i use them on holiday 🙂

  • Jayne Kelsall says:

I’d love the third set on offer, especially as it has night cream which I use a lot of, as for hotels well…ummm…yes who doesn’t, I totally love the little sample sizes they have in the bathroom, they are great for holidays ( but please don’t quote me ! 🙂 .. lol .x

  • Danielle Spencer says:

I’m a subscriber, thanks for the chance to win, I would love to win The Night Set, unfortunately I don’t stay in many hotels, especially those that supply beautiful bath products, although I may have taken home the packaged biscuits that were supplied, if you pack them in your bag daily and they restock them, oops 🙂

  • Emma says:

I love REN and both sets sound amazing. My preference would the morning routine though, I love the smell of grapefruit. I have a cupboard full of hotel toiletries to bring out when guests stay over and possibly one or two hotel beach towels- ssshhh!

  • Hayley Wilson says:

    These sets sound lovely.
Well as I have no time to do anything but brush my teeth in the mornings, I tend to have an evening and night time routine, so the night time one would benefit me most.
As for pinching things from hotels, hmm not stayed in one or a guest house for a long time, I would however grab any of those little soap packets, I have a thing about soap !

  • Sasha Bailey says:

I would absolutely love the night set! Mornings tend to be quite rushed with a young baby, but once he’s in bed that’s when I indulge in a night time beauty regime. Bath, mask. Night Cream, eye cream, love them all. I then wake up refreshed to my boys smiles.
Whenever I go away, if the free toiletries are beautiful them I’ll always take them! I put them on display in my bathroom or put them on the guest bed with towels when people come to stay 😀

  • Linda Bilson says:

Already a subscriber – they all sound heavenly but I would love the Morning Set

  • Zoe C says:

The morning set and yes I have been known to take some hotel toiletries home, the next person won’t want them!!

  • Angie Hoggett says:

I’d love to win a night set and yes I do take the bottle from hotels but only if it’s a good brand. If there’s a turndown service my mam is terrible she takes them and stashes them in a bag just in case they replenish them!

  • Kelly Glen says:

This is a very generous giveaway. I have always wanted to try this brand. I think the Night Set would be my choice.

  • Jenna says:

    I need a night set!

    You know i steal.

  • Louise Brown says:

I would like the Day Boosters set if I am lucky enough to win. The hotel I stayed in last weekend had Bulgari toiletries, it would have been rude not to take a few home!

  • Katie Skeoch says:

I found that so hard to choose! I’d have to go for the morning set, although it was a close call!
Of course I steal from hotels, I have an Arran aromatics miniature selection in my bathroom & a lovely selection of tea bags from my last trip!

  • dawn berry says:

A posh hotel sort of once ripped me off by not giving me the room i thought i had paid for. so i pinched a bath towel
Very very naughty i know But justified I felt because their toiletries were rubbish

  • Ema J Lowe says:

the night set please. I have been known to take the free samples of shampoo/shower gel etc. I was once in a posh hotel when they gave you toothbrushes too, restocked each day with the cleaning.

  • Caroline Pritchard says:

The night set please. I do like to take the samples in hotels if they are nice. Thanks for the giveaway xx

  • Haroon Khan says:

Thank you for hosting this giveaway! I am already a subscriber. I would love to win the night set as it sounds perfect for unwinding after a long and tiring day. I also take the toiletries from hotels if I really like them.

  • Andrea Miles says:

I’s love the night set, it’s not really stealing id you take opened bottles with you – they’d only bin them anyway – that’s my excuse

  • lisa evans says:

The night set please! I always take anything I can get my hands on, shampoo, shower gel, tea, biscuits….!!!

  • Jackie ONeill says:

    Grapefruit Body Cream

  • BERNIE says:

Love to win the night set as I love to pamper myself before bed. It’s not stealing to take the toiletries home with you as they’re included in the room price. So yes I do, but I never take towels and bathrobes like a friend of mine!!

  • regine says:

i’d love the night set! i’ve actually stopped stealing mini products in hotels. i never open them (so tiny! so cute!) so i hoard them for yonks until their content turns to something resembling mucus.

  • Kristy Brown says:

I would love to win the The Night Set please and there are many times that I have taken home miniatures from a hotel

  • Jane says:

I spend so much time travelling for work, I absolutely have to remove ‘samples’ to keep my friends small bottles they can use for carry on luggage! I would like to win the Night Set, I don’t really use anything at the moment.

  • Susan Dilworth says:

I’d love the night set please. So refreshing to read all these candid confessions so I will happily join in with mine. Yes to everything and I especially love the Suchard hot chocolate sachets, custard creams and the plastic shower caps! Always useful x

  • Rebecca Alderson says:

I love the sound of the night set! Well surely the toiletries are included in the hotel price so they’re ours really?! Right? Hahaha

  • Robyn Seviour says:

I love the sound of all of the products but I’d have to choose the morning set, as I need all the help I can get to get out of bed! I don’t think I stay in posh enough hotels as I neber find anything fancy to ‘borrow’. The shower caps are really useful to cover the bowl when you’re proving home made bread though!

  • Stephanie Coals says:

I always take the shower caps – they’re brilliant to cover your hair with when dying it at home. It saves getting it all over your shoulders and dye going absolutely everywhere whilst its developing! I would love to win the The Night Set please.

  • Isabell Stewart says:

The day set for me, please. I love REN Skincare this is a fab prize.

  • Nusch says:

REN Is my favourite, I would love to try the hot towel cleanser and the environment mist. How great of you to do these give always!

  • Catherine says:

I would love to win – and yes IO confess to nicking the mini shampoos from hotels, The Marriott I stayed at last had Loccitane goodies and whilst the cleaner was distracted I grabbed a massive handful

  • maureen findley says:

the night setwould be perfect please

  • Cara Johnson says:

I would love the day boosters as someone described my skin as grey the other day! 🙁

I have been known to leave a larger than normal tip in return for extra living proof products. 🙂

  • Jo Carroll says:

I would love the Day Booster set please. x

  • The Night Set would be the one for me! I love to wind down at night with a hot shower and beautiful products. I do love REN skincare, although have only previously tried a few of their products.

I do steal mini toiletries from hotels too! Although a lot of hotels I stay in have unbranded toiletries and I don’t really like using them in case they’re packed with nasty skin drying ingredients, so I leave them be.

  • Karolina Rozwarska says:

I would love to win the The Night Set please.

  • Helen Thurston says:

I’d love the Night Set please. I was a bit miffed the last time I stayed at a hotel – they had lovely shower gels, shampoo, etc – all in classy looking pumpable dispensers that were fixed to the wall! (next time I’m packing empty travel size bottles to fill 🙂 ) I did end up with the ‘disposable’ bath slippers to use at home though as they’d just bin them otherwise.

  • Esma Blackwell says:

The night set please. I stayed in a 5 star hotel in Amsterdam. I have to admit.I take the toiletries lol

  • Cath Joyce says:

I would love the Morning set please, I normally burn the candle at both ends so I need something zingy to waken me in the morning.

I take the toiletries from hotels as they are perfect to keep in my wash bag. My sister in law is a hotel housekeeper and she says that the hotel expect them to be taken and throw away opened ones so we are reducing waste by taking them home with us.

  • Carol Thomas says:

I wasn’t sure if I had subscribed or not. Anyway I popped my email into subscribe and it said I had opted out of subscribing yet I am sure I get emails from you. Yes this a bit of a blondish moment. So I clicked again and it still came up the same so I am not sure if I am subscribed or not. Please feel free to check and add me to your list if I am not. yeah.

I would like the night set please. Um have I ever taken anything from a hotel. Not deliberately. I did once by accident take a towel by mistake. Oops!

I’d love to try the instant brightening beauty eye shot. I’ve just come back from a holiday and the jetlag has had me noticing my under-eye bags even more! And yes, I steal. I steal it all.

Wife says I must win her the morning set or it’s divorce time !!

I’d like to win the night set please?

  • LISA says:

I’d love the night set – and if a hotel has REN toiletries they do get stolen.

  • Christine Evans says:

The night set would be my choice
When I stay in hotels I always nick the bottles of shower gel (perfect for short breaks rather than packing a large bottle) and if there are biscuits and tea bags in the room I snaffle a few of those as well

  • Julie Camm says:

I’d love to try the Instant Brightening Beauty Shot Eye Lift………. I’ve been known to pinch the biscuits from the tea tray when I leave a hotel, and the pens…

  • Sarah Brokenshire says:

The night set looks fabulous and yep – Whenever I stay over in a hotel I take the free toilettries- who doesnt love a freebie?

  • Emma says:

I would prefer the night set.
I tend to pick up some of the nicer freebies in hotels as find them useful for weekend trips or to leaving out if you have friends coming to stay. It can add a touch of luxury rather than leaving out the everyday shampoo/conditioner.

  • Chanette Kennedy says:

I love the look of the night set! I do sometimes steal the toiletries from hotels if they’re nice ones!

Would love to win the day set! And, yes, if they’re quality, they’re going in my bag 🙂

  • Helen W says:

I’d love to win the morning set.

When I was 15 I had a weekend job at a hotel as a chamber maid, and I used to pocket all the good biscuits. No one ever got a pack of jammy dodgers or bourbons in their room when I was working!

  • Nicola Penny says:

I would love the nightime set. Nothing worse than looking at a puffy un-refreshed looking face in the morning or dry skin. Always trying samples and sampling freebies on offer on skin counters or hotels!

  • Jane Adair says:

I’d like to win the Morning set please. My work has me get up at 4am and I must confess at that time in the morning I tend to neglect any type of beauty regime that you can’t do with a shower and a cup of coffee :/ As for stealing from hotels , the
