Imagine the sound of a few hundred voices chatting and shouting and giggling and (occasionally) sobbing. Add to that the whirring of twenty hairdryers, phones ringing and the constant background thump of base that tells you that the organiser wanted to set a tone by making a ‘getting ready’ soundtrack, but that they have failed abysmally because now only the loudest component of the music is audible, contributing to the cacophony of sounds.
