The Giveaway / An Absurdly Good Omorovicza Haul – CLOSED

Tweet | Facebook | Email

Two things are true of most the skincare products I like: first, that they are often inordinately expensive; second, that they are hugely joy-bestowing. The latter has a lot to do with hope – each jar/vial/tube contains not only moisturiser but also potentially helpings of smoother skin and fewer scars and softened lines.

This promise coupled with the pleasure in taking a few minutes twice daily to pamper has yet to cease to draw me in, and in running these giveaways I hope to send a little of this happy magic into your hands as a thank you for reading.

This time round, Hungarian brand Omorovicza are offering up an insanely big bounty of the first ten products they launched. Each contains mineral-rich thermal water to enhance the efficacy of actives and simultaneously heal and hydrate the skin. I’ve tested them all (and some of the rest of their award-winning range – Omorovicza are one of my all-time favourite beauty brands), and am so very excited for one of you to win them all… //

Omorovicza Cleanser Review

Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm / This is one of the less greasy cleansing balms out there and would be ideally suited to either ageing or oily skin as it contains clay to draw out impurities and plenty of minerals to feed the skin. Apply after you’ve taken off make-up (best done with an oil), and massage it into skin before removing with a damp flannel.

Omorovicza Gentle Buffing Cleanser / I use this one in the morning or as a final cleansing step after a balm if it’s a v hot or especially make-up heavy day. It contains little buffing beads (not of the environmentally unsound variety) and enzymes to help remove dead cells on the surface. I splash my face with lukewarm water first and then message this in before rinsing off.

Omorovicza Face Mask Review

Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask / Effectively a nutrient-rich mud taken from Lake Héviz, I like how cooling and immediately gratifying this mask is; my skin is a little less greasy and definitely less inflamed after each use.

Omorovicza Instant Plumping Mask / … And this is for when your skin feels lacklustre and sad and in need of a little pick-me-up. Pop it on before you go to bed and leave on overnight so that the hyaluronic acid and omega 6 ceramides can spend the night plumping and strengthening.

Omorovicza Moisturiser and Eye Cream Review

Omorovicza Reviving Eye Cream / Packed with ingredients to take down puffiness, cool and diminish darkness, this eye cream is also a bit special because of the minerals that fortify and feed cells aka make your skin healthier, not just temporarily more moist/plump etc. The texture lends itself to being tapped on, so that’s how I apply it.

Omorovicza Illuminating Moisturiser / If you, like me, have steered clear of moisturisers on account of not wanting to apply too many layers or feel greasy, this is the one for you – it’s hydrating, but doesn’t sit on the surface in the slightest. The illuminating bit is courtesy of ruby crystals (oddly, these aren’t red!), which add a delicate gloss that mimics supermodel healthy (not post-marathon sweat bag/glistening martian) skin.

Omorovicza Gold Rescue Cream and Rejuvenating Night Cream Review

Omorovicza Rejuvenating Night Cream / Think of this as the slightly less intense plumping mask – your every night skin treat, if you will. In the pot: Apple Pectin to draw in moisture, Wild Carrot to give you a little natural retinol action, and Plum Almond Oil to act as an antioxidant.

Omorovicza Gold Rescue Cream / Omorovicza say that this omega 6-rich cream is so deeply hydrating and restorative that you don’t need to bother with a serum. I tasked my mum with testing it (my skin is far too oily for this one) and she came back saying that it did indeed moisturise amply, but that adding a drop of oil further tackled her surface dryness.

Omorovicza Body Oil and Face Spray

Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist / One of my favourite mists, this is neither too wet nor too oily. It’s refreshing, won’t mess up make-up and adds a little oomph to skin that’s wilting come mid-afternoon.

Omorovicza Firming Body Oil / Applying a body oil before bed is a meditative process for me – I find the smell and sensation all very agreeable and notice that I always sleep better when I’ve observed the ritual. This one is a joy: slightly herbal and a delight to smooth on.
