I’d all but forgotten Oskia’s Super 16 Serum when I was browsing their site after a weekend in Portugal. I’d logged on because I trust Oskia immensely – they’re a reliable brand that always pack a little extra skin-loving into each formula. In this case, I’d hoped to find something to give my skin back the life it had lost to the sun, and I remembered that I’d been a bit upset to finish my first bottle years ago.
When my face and this lightweight serum were reacquainted, I was reminded of its power. Oddly, is feels very slippery and fluid – almost like a cleansing gel. My skin wasn’t fooled though; it slurped up the goodness in about fifteen seconds, looking instantly more hydrated.
Over the past three weeks, I’ve used it religiously day and night, straight on my cleansed face under whichever oil or cream I’m favouring that day. As nothing else in my routine has changed, I can only attribute the bouncier, healthier, calmer skin I’m currently enjoying to its powers.
In terms of skin type, this would serve any well – it is a cocktail of skin-fortifying ingredients including antioxidants to neutralise free radicals, vitamin A to help normalise cell function and reduce pigmentation, MSM to repair and strengthen, and hyaluronic acid to up moisture levels.
Three drop applied after cleansing is plenty (and don’t forget to smooth down your neck too). I need an extra whack of moisture at night but if you find your skin feels suitably hydrated after this, there’s absolutely no need to follow up with anything. Though the bottle is dark glass, remember to store it out of the sunlight and heat – a cool bedroom cupboard would be best to preserve the integrity of the ingredients.

Are you still using this product? How did it fare over time?
Hi Corinne. I am indeed – I only just put up an Instagram of it in my routine. I’m getting towards the bottom of the bottle and love it. I use it day and night and it’s really impressive – give skin the instant sense of having had a drink, is lightweight and quickly absorbed and smooths and nourishes over time. It’s one of my top serums.
