Vlog: Inside VIVAMAYR Altaussee, Day Six

Tweet | Facebook | Email

I had a realisation on day six of my Cure week at the Mayr: I liked routine. No, my body liked routine. Rising at six, eating around seven thirty, tucking into lunch at one after treatments, exercising, sipping broth and then tucking myself up in bed by nine thirty worked for me and sticking to it made my body a happier place in which to live.

That said, it would take a while for me to learn to measure my expenditure of the banks of energy adhering to the regime filled me with – on my return, I worked long days that overtaxed me and ended up relying fairly heavily on the ‘base salts’ that I’d lined my suitcase with with to fill me up and ward off acid reflux from stress.

Now, my routine is crucial to the juggling of my time as a freelancer. Days spent trying to cram in walking Monty, writing/making videos for magazines, blogging, make-up artistry and dashing around London are made possible by eating properly – by which I mean eating mostly the right things at the right time, not anything mad and faddy. I’m going to outline all the Mayr rules later in the week so that you can give it a whirl should you be so inclined, but for now, I’ll leave you with the above video of day six, in which Mick and I hit the town shop where sugar dwells, check out the church and explore the Mayr’s spa offerings…
