Deciem is the company that has hands down had the biggest impact on beauty in recent years. Determined to think very firmly outside the box, their problem-solving approach and myriad clever products have set them apart from others from the off – and beauty editors and bloggers have raved about them as a result.
Founder Brandon Truaxe is the man behind this marked difference: he’s a bit of a maverick, and decided to run ten brands at once, allowing him the production capabilities and budget to produce fairly-priced products (including a cheaper – but efficacious – brand The Ordinary to cater for those who can’t afford £100 serums) that strip back formulas to their essentials.
To acquaint one of you with a nice array of their wares, I set up this giveaway. I know: two in as many weeks is excessive, but the Christmas spirit has well and truly swept me up and I know how very cheering new beauty is – and, trust me, whoever wins these is in for a real treat.
So, to the details and products involved. Entries, as ever, go under this post in the comments field //
Hair is Fabric Colour Support Cleansing Conditioner / This two-in-one is WORLDS away from those of my childhood that would leave my hair smelling of noxious chemicals. It imparts a lovely lustre and has the happy side effect of making my hair less flyaway.
Fountain The Geek Molecule / Feel a little befuddled around this time of year? This supplement may well help you out – the zinc, hyaluronic acid and Gotu Kola jointly aim to up circulation and hydration, therefore leading to improved brain function.
Hylamide Glow Radiance Booster / This works in two ways: first, it helps to up glow by feeding the skin and making it more uniform. Next, the sugars in the formula react with the amino acids in your skin to produce a glow that’s akin to fake tan but much more believable in my experience. You can use this neat, though I prefer to drop a little into my serum at night.
The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2% / A cheaper chicken (Father of the Bride, anyone?) of the cosmetics world that’s still oh-so clever, I reviewed this properly here, though in a nutshell it’s basically a good, stable retinoid that’ll reduce the depth of wrinkles, increase luminosity and do other good things to your skin.
Hand Chemistry Hyaluronic Concentrate / A hydrating hug for your skin in a tub, this gel can go all over your body to deliver skin-bolstering, plumping hyaluronic acid to your skin. It’s probably a good one to go for it you’re a bit rubbish at remembering to moisturise/find applying different things to different parts off our body a bit of a faff/don’t like any residual greasiness on your skin as it’s absorbed quickly and isn’t sticky or gloopy.
Niod Copper Amino Isolate Serum 1.00% / All the good stuff in your skin decreases with age – collagen, hyaluronic acid, elastin, copper peptides all reduce steadily from teens onwards and the process is sped up if your lifestyle is a bit rubbish. What do to? Feed them back into your skin daily. In the case of this serum (which is blue!), just mix the two bottles containing regenerative and healing copper peptides along with hyaluronic acid, give them a shake, and apply post-cleanse and pre-moisturiser. It’s almost like a water in texture so don’t feel afraid to follow up with a second serum should you feel you need it.
