Davina McCall is a woman divided when it comes to beauty. On the one hand, she’s been influenced by her mother, a woman who would ‘ walk into a room and magnetise everybody – she was always looking amazing, always made up, always moisturised.’ And then there’s the grandmother she lived with for nine years, a woman who ‘never wore a jot of make-up – stuff and nonsense.’

As you may imagine, her mum was always enveloped in a cloud of perfume – Opium, by Yves Saint Laurent, to be precise – and this memory of a heady blast of perfume remains with Davina to this day.

Scent has also played a really big part in Davina’s grown up life – she used to shell out for Chanel No19 rather than cheaper perfumes her contemporaries used to enjoy, and very much enjoys a shower using a beautifully-scented Diptyque shower gel, while her signature scent is Escentric Molecules cult Molecule 01.

From her grandma, she gets practicality, and her make-up choices reflect this: her mascara is no-nonsense and stays put all day without drying out lashes or resulting in panda eyes when trying to remove, her favourite gradual tan means that Davina doesn’t have to go to any great effort to remain bronzed, and her tinted moisturiser slides on to hydrate, unify, and offer a soft blur all in one.

As always, I hope you enjoy the episode – and once again I’ll leave you with the petition to please rate, review and subscribe if you haven’t already!
